I enter 2010 with immense optimism and excitement. No, it’s not a facade and I didn’t just win a billion dollars. I am no one significant by worldly accounts. I don’t hold any important titles. I am just a spec in the world wide web and going with the currents of life. What I am is just a girl on the pursuit of living a full life and I am really excited about 2010; there is a lot of living to do.
I turned 29 in 2009 and there was definitely something in the air about turning 29. The motto of 2009 for me was “Something’s Gotta Give.” It wasn’t anything tragic or externally visible, it was a battle within the self. The motto of 2010 will be “Success is something you attract by the person you become.”
2010 is one more opportunity to develop what hasn’t been developed, to learn what hasn’t been learned, to think what hasn’t been thought, to pursue what hasn’t been accomplished, to read what hasn’t been read, to do what hasn’t be done, to meet those who haven’t been introduced, to explore what hasn’t been explored, to give what hasn’t been given, to love what hasn’t been loved, to say what hasn’t been said, to see what hasn’t been seen, and to be what hasn’t become.
“Why not go out on a limb. Isn’t that where the fruit is?” – Frank Scully
2010 may be a whole year but in the grand scheme of things, it is just another mark in the cosmic timeline. It is also a grand opportunity to go on an adventure and see what you’re made of and what you’re all about.
“In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” – Abraham Lincoln
Happy New Year!
Wishing everyone a year of living a full life in 2010.
